Mother's Eye

for this 2022 Visual Development my team studied Inuit culture and Folklore. In the story the mother sacrifices her eye for her blind children I wanted to combine both organic and inorganic shapes and colors to show how magic impacted the biology of the eye itself

Mother's Eye Bat Wing Ideation

For the project we decided to add animal parts for the children's transitions into the blind creatures they become. we used a pretty desaturated color palette to keep true with the setting

Since we were using a desaturated palette having strong shape language was important. Studying the anatomy of moles and bats were important even if they aren't in one piece.

Mother's Eye The Sled

The setting and themes of the story itself is rather grim and I designed the dog to be sickly as a way to show how the mother and children were not living the best life even before the conflicts of the story occurred
